Uma is a Director and the North America Sustainable Buildings Team Lead in JLL's Sustainability Consulting team. Tasked with overseeing complex projects to ensure client satisfaction through teamwork and relationship development, in addition to team management, Uma's expertise lies in developing comprehensive sustainability programs and strategies for occupier and investor clients to align their real estate with the organizational ESG goal, as well as implementing certifications such as LEED, WELL, Fitwel, and Living Building Challenge. With her background in architecture, Uma has a unique perspective on building design, operation, and integrating sustainability into clients' overall project strategies. With almost 20 years of industry experience, Uma has successfully consulted on and managed certifications for over 75 new construction and renovation projects spanning over approximately 10 million+ square feet. She served as a member of International Living Future Institute (ILFI)'s Organizational Equity Technical Advisory Group (2023-2024) and the Greenbuild Advisory Board (2023). She is one of 20 people selected for JLL's 2024 Emerging Leaders Program from the entire North America region. Uma holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from India and a Masters in Sustainable Design degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.
