Ms. Rebecca Becker

Vice President, Environmental and Climate Adaptation Equity Residential

Rebecca Becker is the Vice President, Environmental and Climate Adaptation at Equity Residential, an S&P 500 company and real estate investment trust that owns or has investments in approximately 300 multifamily properties in urban and high-density suburban U.S. markets. Rebecca leads Equity Residential's environmental and energy management programs, in addition to its climate risk and adaptation program. She is experienced with advising on complex environmental matters to facilitate real estate transactions and management of multi-state and multimedia environmental risk programs. Rebecca is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) Sustainability Committee and The Seattle Office of Environmental and Sustainability Technical Advisory Group (TAG) that developed the City's Building Energy Performance Standards. Her tenure at Equity Residential includes roles in both the Investments and Legal organizations. Rebecca holds a B.S in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan's School for Environment and Sustainability.

Strategic Decarbonization is a phased approach to reducing, and ideally, eliminating, carbon emissions from tall buildings in cold climates. The Initiative outlines methods as well as dynamic case studies to make decarbonization goals eminently achievable and financially viable.
