Daniel leads the World Economic Forum's Cement & Concrete decarbonization work. Within the First Movers Coalition initiative, Daniel works with companies who have signed demand commitments to ensure the use of small percentages of ultra low-emissions cement/concrete within their projects by 2030. Daniel also works with suppliers to understand the barriers to the supply of such products. The First Movers Coalition then aims to work with these private companies, government partners and finance players to drive bankable offtake and pilot projects of deeply decarbonized products in heavy-emitting industrial sectors in order to showcase the art of the possible to the market. Originally from Scotland, prior to joining the World Economic Forum in early 2023, he spent 5 years at Deloitte in the UK, working in the field of technology transformations.
