Postsecondary educational institutions are a critical foundation of Toronto’s future. These institutions attract and integrate talent and build an entrepreneurial and resilient workforce, and their innovations fuel our economy. With such an important role to play, they have been redefining the nature of their communities both within the institutions themselves and within the city. They are building new partnerships, leveraging real estate assets, and creating facilities and places that support new ways of learning and collaborating. On this tour, you will engage the people who are leading and facilitating these changes and observe the places they are creating. Campuses on the tour will include the George Brown College innovation district on Toronto’s waterfront; Toronto Metropolitan University’s (formerly Ryerson) campus at the heart of Toronto’s “Times’ Square”; and the shared University of Toronto/MaRS district where infotech meets biotech.
