While Toronto may not be a coastal city in the strictest sense of the term, Lake Ontario is a great lake! Join us for a cruise of Toronto harbor, an important inland port on the St. Lawrence Seaway, and enjoy a scenic view of the city’s skyline. This tour will visit the Toronto Islands, a sandbar archipelago that was once a place of healing and ceremony for the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous communities. Today, it is one of the city’s signature parks and serves as an oasis for Torontonians from many walks of life. We will also cruise around the Port Lands, an industrial district on lands that were created through lake filling and the channelization of the Don River. The Port Lands is set to become Toronto’s neighborhood of the future, as a major flood protection project seeks to renaturalize the river and unlock 325 hectares (803 acres) of land for new development and public open space.
