While Toronto city building has a long history of being progressive, more is being asked of developers and the larger city-building industry in light of growing public revenue shortages and social demands. New initiatives are pushing the boundaries of private-sector delivery of public interests. While governments and their agencies seek control over public access, quality, durability, and privacy, the private sector needs to be able to develop innovative solutions that serve both the public good and their private interests. This tour will visit and debate projects at the forefront of this conversation that are delivering new transit, important public spaces and community facilities, affordable housing, and the use of digital city-building technologies.
Tour Cost: US$125 per person, which includes lunch.
