Note: This is a bike tour (please see details below).
Toronto has often aspired to be a “city within a park.” Well-known destinations–like High Park and the Toronto Islands–complement a vast network of ravines and a dynamic lakefront. However, there are also many recent examples of intimate and innovative urban parks that are overlooked.
In recent years, Toronto’s ongoing construction boom–paired with the dramatic remaking of the central waterfront–has led to exciting new parks and signature open spaces designed to better serve downtown residents. This bike tour will explore revitalized public spaces, such as Berczy Park; creative parks in underused spaces, including The Bentway and Stackt Market; and new parks that have been designed to animate the waterfront, including Sugar Beach and Corktown Common.
